In Arizona, approximately 75% of all adults 25-49 do not have a bachelors degree. This condition exsists in a state that is home to three dynamic universities, one of the nation's largest community college systems, and dozens of private, for-profit, and vocational institutions.

Through research, advocacy, and networking, the primary goal of the Arizona College and University Student Network is to significantly increase the number of experienced adults with a college degree. See our primary goals

What is an experienced adult?

  • An experienced adult student is one who has significant roles other than "student." Quite often they are full-time workers, parents, veterans, caregivers, and attend college as life situations allow.

Why is it important to empower these adults with college degrees? Experienced adults bring to their education a broad understanding of the world around them with:

  • professional skills, familiarity, and experience with how businesses operate
    beyond a theoretical level

  • practical experience in how community organizations really work

  • personal understanding of the true needs of multiple generations

Arizona needs these experienced adults to earn their college degrees to tackle some of our state's most pressing education, healthcare, environment, government, and social issues.
